Project Overview

Shopify ecommerce store development for Flowers A Million Enterprises, building a complete and conversion-optimised online storefront with custom sections, mobile-first layout, and a seamless purchase flow.

About the client

Flowers A Million Enterprises is an occasion-led florist selling bouquets, arrangements and gifting for birthdays, anniversaries and sympathy. They were moving off an ad-hoc setup onto Shopify and needed a storefront that could actually take orders reliably and feel as considered as the flowers themselves.

The challenge

The brief was a complete store, not a templated drop-in. Florals are an impulse-and-occasion purchase, so the store had to load fast on mobile (most floral buying happens on a phone), present arrangements attractively, and get a first-time visitor from a product page to a paid order with as little friction as possible. The previous setup gave shoppers no clear path to buy and no mobile-first layout.

What we built

I built a custom theme rather than relying on an off-the-shelf one: bespoke homepage and collection sections so seasonal and occasion ranges can be merchandised without code, image-forward product pages tuned for arrangements, and a mobile-first layout with a sticky add-to-cart so the buy action is always in reach. The purchase flow was streamlined end to end — clean cart, minimal steps, and a checkout configured for occasion-based gifting orders. Everything was done natively in Liquid and Shopify settings instead of stacking paid apps, which keeps the store fast and cheaper to run long term.

Process

Worked iteratively across the engagement — built the theme structure first, then refined section by section against the client's feedback until each page matched what they wanted, delivering on schedule.

Outcome

Launched a complete, conversion-optimised storefront the client could run and merchandise themselves. The engagement closed with a 5-star review — "Great work and delivered exactly what was asked." No recurring app fees were introduced, since the custom sections replaced what would otherwise have needed paid apps.
