How to set up TikTok Shop on Shopify for activewear brands

A step-by-step guide to connecting TikTok Shop to Shopify, syncing your catalog and making sure orders flow correctly.

TikTok Shop is a significant channel for activewear brands. Here is a practical walkthrough of the integration setup from the Shopify side.

Step one is eligibility. TikTok Shop is available in the USA, UK, and several Southeast Asian markets. Your Shopify store needs to be on a paid plan, and your TikTok account needs to be a Business Account with a minimum follower threshold (currently 1,000 for most markets).

Step two is the TikTok Shopify app. Install the official TikTok app from the Shopify App Store. This handles the catalog sync, pixel installation, and order routing. During setup you will connect your TikTok Business Center account and your TikTok Shop seller account.

Step three is catalog mapping. Your Shopify product variants need clean, consistent data to sync correctly. Common issues: variant titles that are too long, missing size/colour attribute values, and products without a primary category. Fix these in Shopify before syncing — cleaning them up in TikTok Shop after the fact is slower.

Step four is order routing. TikTok Shop orders flow into Shopify as standard orders with a TikTok source tag. Your existing fulfilment workflow handles them. Make sure your shipping zones cover the markets TikTok Shop is active in, and that your return policy URL is set in TikTok Seller Center.

For activewear specifically: video content performs significantly better than static images for product listings on TikTok Shop. Invest in short-form product demonstration videos. These drive 3–5x higher click-through rates than static imagery in our experience.
